ARCADE walkthrough videos
Short screen walkthroughs of ARCADE Lite, recorded on a real node: what an arcade is, how to set one up, what it does for Dogecoin, Pepecoin, Litecoin, DigiByte, Bellscoin and Luckycoin, and how-tos for each part. No voice; the on-screen text tells the story, and it is printed under each video.
What is an arcade node?
Three short videos: what an arcade is, what you get as a user, and what a node can do.
What is an arcade node? ARCADE Lite in one window
A tour of the ARCADE Lite window: one @name and an address for every coin, chains run here or borrowed, and arcades linked over a mesh.
What the video says
- What is an arcade node?. Part 1 of 3 · An arcade in one window
- This is an arcade: a website one person runs on their own computer.
- ARCADE Lite looks like a classic coin wallet: a menu bar…
- …and tabs for Send, Receive, Transactions, your address book and Messages.
- One @name, one address for every coin. Your keys are made and locked in your browser, not on the server.
- Underneath, real blockchains. This node runs Pepecoin test itself and borrows the others from arcades that share theirs.
- Arcades link to each other over a mesh, with no server in the middle. Every node gives and receives.
- Help has guides for everything. Next: what you get when you join.
- Next: what you get. Part 2 of 3 · arcade-nodes.com
What you get on an arcade: a browser wallet, an @name and private messages
Make an account in about a minute: a wallet made in your browser from twelve words, test coins to start, sealed messages and sends you review before anything is signed.
What the video says
- What you get. What is an arcade node? · Part 2 of 3
- Anyone can join an arcade. It takes about a minute.
- Pick a name. The page tells you if it's free.
- Then a password of twelve characters or more. Nobody can reset it, so keep it safe.
- Your wallet is made right here, in your browser. These twelve words are your only way back.
- Write them on paper, in order. The arcade never sees your words, your password or your keys.
- You're in. Your @name is claimed on the chain in a minute or two, and you have an address for every coin.
- Messages are opened with your own key, in your browser, so unlock first.
- Type an @name and press Open.
- Your message is sealed to their key before it leaves. The arcade carries it but can't read it.
- It shows up within seconds, marked as in the pool until its block lands.
- Sending coins works the same way: pick a wallet, an @name and an amount.
- Review shows exactly what leaves your wallet: the amount, the network fee and the total.
- Nothing is signed until you press Send. Your browser checks the transaction against what you typed.
- Sent. It moves into Transactions once a block carries it.
- Same account, any arcade. Sign in on any arcade with the same name and password. Messages and your address book stay in the browser that made them.
- Next: what a node can do. Part 3 of 3 · arcade-nodes.com
What an arcade node can do: borrow chains, switch on modules, a whole desktop
Run a chain or borrow it from another arcade and share back, switch on the Feed, Explore and Exchange, and see a full arcade's desktop and App Store.
What the video says
- What a node can do. What is an arcade node? · Part 3 of 3
- Admin › Coins & chains: each chain runs here, is borrowed from another arcade, or is off.
- A new Lite node borrows every chain except Pepecoin test, which always runs here.
- Share what you run, and other arcades can borrow it from you.
- Window › Peers shows the arcades yours is linked to. It finds them by itself.
- Everything else is a module you switch on.
- For each one, choose who may use it: only you, signed-in people, or everyone.
- Turning one on brings what it needs. Switching one off never deletes its data.
- The new tabs appear in the window at once. From a terminal it's the same: arcade-cli install feed.
- Explore Doginals by number, id or address, without signing in.
- Answered by an arcade that walks this chain and shares its index. Every node gives and receives.
- On a full arcade every module is on, down to a whole desktop in the browser.
- Apps and games come from an App Store stored on the chain, and every arcade shows the same one.
- Pick the look you like: Windows 98, Ubuntu, or a plain website.

Set up ARCADE Lite
Install ARCADE Lite on a spare Linux PC, claim it, choose chains and modules, and keep it running.
Install ARCADE Lite on a spare Linux PC
The real install: download the installer, check its SHA-256 against GitHub, dry run, choose Lite, and the installer verifies Pepecoin Core and sets up user services.
What the video says
- Set up ARCADE Lite. Part 1 of 4 · Install it on a spare Linux PC
- A spare PC is enough: 2 cores, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB SSD. Linux, Python 3.10+, gpg and curl. No root needed.
- Download the installer.
- Check it before you run it: work out its SHA-256 fingerprint…
- …and compare it with the public source on GitHub. Same number: go on. Different: stop.
- A dry run shows every step and changes nothing.
- It asks: Full or Lite? Type “l” for ARCADE Lite.
- Now install it for real.
- It checks Pepecoin Core’s checksum and signature before installing it.
- Then it installs the arcade as your own user services (no root) and fetches a head start for the index.
- Done. Open http://127.0.0.1:8420 on this machine.
- Next: claim it. Part 2 of 4 · Guides at arcade-nodes.com/guides.html
Claim your ARCADE Lite node: first coins, owner account and signature
Open the arcade at its machine, get your first Pepecoin test, make your account, make it the owner and sign that the node is yours.
What the video says
- Claim it. Set up ARCADE Lite · Part 2 of 4
- Open it at the machine: http://127.0.0.1:8420. It joins the other arcades at once.
- It borrows every chain from them while its own Pepecoin test node syncs.
- Admin opens a short set-up: your node, some PEP test, your @name.
- Your arcade needs a little Pepecoin test to claim its name and talk to the others.
- Other operators welcome new arcades with some, or you can mine a block on this computer.
- Pick a name. The page tells you if it's free.
- Then a password of twelve characters or more. Nobody can reset it, so keep it safe.
- Signed in with your own account at the machine? Make it the owner.
- This only works at the machine, and only once. Your account then opens the node's wallet and Admin.
- Your coins stay in your browser, so unlock your wallet with your password.
- Under This node, sign that you own it. Tick the box so your other nodes can list it.
- Your wallet shows the exact words it will sign: arcade, network, this node, your address and an end date.
- Signed. This node is listed as yours until next year, and linked arcades can see it.
- Next: chains and modules. Part 3 of 4 · Guides at arcade-nodes.com/guides.html
ARCADE Lite: chains here, borrowed or off, and switching on modules
Admin's Coins & chains: borrow a chain, install a node, share it back. Then Edition & modules: switch on the Feed, Explore, Exchange and Apps, and choose who may use them.
What the video says
- Chains and modules. Set up ARCADE Lite · Part 3 of 4
- Admin › Coins & chains: each chain runs here, is borrowed from another arcade, or is off.
- A new Lite node borrows every chain except Pepecoin test, which always runs here.
- Want to run one yourself? Install a node fetches the official release, checks it, and copies the chain data from a linked arcade.
- Change a row, press Save chains, and the panel offers a restart.
- Share what you run, and other arcades can borrow it from you.
- Edition & modules. Lite starts with the core only: your arcade, wallet, address book, accounts, mesh link and messages.
- Next: reach it, keep it running. Part 4 of 4 · Guides at arcade-nodes.com/guides.html
Reach your arcade and keep it running: remote access, updates and backup
An SSH forward, a temporary address for visitors, the remote-access password, signed automatic updates, backups and the mesh peers.
What the video says
- Reach it, keep it running. Set up ARCADE Lite · Part 4 of 4
- From your laptop. ssh -L 8420:127.0.0.1:8420 you@your-node — then open http://127.0.0.1:8420. You get Admin as if you sat at the machine.
- Want visitors? Admin › Network walks you through putting your arcade online on your own domain.
- No domain yet? Get a temporary address: a Cloudflare quick tunnel, with no account and no router changes.
- Turn on automatic updates. Main live gets a release once a day, after a day with no trouble.
- Every release is signed, and your node never goes back to an older one.
- Set a remote-access password of twelve characters or more. Treat it like a wallet passphrase.
- File › Backup… shows your twelve words again and saves an encrypted copy of your wallet. Keep copies off this machine.
- Window › Peers shows the arcades yours is linked to. It finds them by itself.
- From anywhere else, your node is a public arcade: no Admin tab, and nothing can spend the node's wallet.
- Your arcade is up. Full step-by-step guide at arcade-nodes.com/guides.html
