What the video says
- Set up ArcadeCore · Part 5 of 5 · Reach it and keep it running
- Reach it from other devices
- Updates
- Passwords and backups
- Peers
- Out of the box your node only answers on its own machine. Admin › Network is where you open it to other devices and visitors.
- Put this arcade online walks you through using your own domain, step by step.
- No domain yet? Get a temporary address: a Cloudflare quick tunnel, with no account and no router changes.
- For just yourself, an SSH forward is enough: ssh -L 8420:127.0.0.1:8420 you@your-node, then open 127.0.0.1:8420 on your laptop.
- Turn on automatic updates. The main live channel gets a release once a day, after a day with no trouble.
- Every release is signed, and your node never goes back to an older one.
- Set a remote-access password of twelve characters or more, so Admin can be opened from other devices. Treat it like a wallet passphrase.
- File › Backup… shows your twelve words again and saves an encrypted copy of your wallet.
- Keep copies off this machine: on paper, and on a USB stick in a drawer. If the computer dies, the words bring everything back.
- Window › Peers shows the arcades yours is linked to, how far away each one is, and what they share. It finds them by itself.
